Silk-dyed eggs

So this week is really crazy. I have so much to do. Several quilts to quilt, meal to a family, set up for a dinner, late night hockey, full schedule at work and a friend coming to visit and family coming at the beginning of next week. So..... what do I do decide to try to dye some eggs with silk.
I saw the idea on pinterest and it looked interesting to me.

As it happens I have bags of silk squares that my sister gave me over ten years ago, I have never really known what to do with them, but of course I saved them.
First I cut the squares down to smaller size and then I could use it for more than one egg.
Next you need to wrap the egg in the silk and then wrap string around it to hold in place against the shell of the egg. Cover the whole egg with string.
Then put in a pot and boil for 13 to 15 minutes. So i read you can't eat theses eggs because of the dye. I really don't know.
Boiling, boiling........
Take them out let them cool. It was hard for me to wait to see how they turned out. Its now time to take the string off. I unstrung it so I could reuse the string.
Here is one of them.
And another. Cool. I understand if the eggs don't have a crack in them you can save them for decoration from year to year because they will eventually dry up inside.
